The balance of truth and lies reside
on the scales of our mind. The process of believing God’s truth or Satan’s lie is a daily task for a Christian. The scales can be tipped in either direction depending on the circumstances we encounter everyday.
The scales must be calibrated to show what is a true measurement. The Word of God is that calibration. It is filled with truths and promises. Before we knew the love of Christ, we were fragile creatures, incapable of discernment. A small gust had the potential to tip our scales in either direction. We have the victory to overcome now, through Him.
The world presses us down and causes the scale to be unbalanced, to make our hearts heavy. The weight is heavy on our shoulders. God has given us a way to shed this weight. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
Everyone wants to set goals to lose weight this time of year. But have you set a goal to shed the weight from your burdens? Think of what is weighing you down right now. Give it to Him, he is a Champion weight-lifter.
