Have you ever prayed for something with such intent and passion? This special request was all you could think of. But as time passed, this prayer petition became a little less thought of. Oh sure, in the back of your mind it was still alive but it wasn’t center stage anymore. The answer of “not yet” hovered over you. The joy of an answer, not yes and not no, turned into impatience, if “not yet” then when? Daily life happened and your attention was taken from that “not yet” request.

In your heart, you knew that request was Biblical and Godly. We are so impatient and when we get a “wait” from God, we may wait a little while and think that will please Him. We reason, “See, God I am waiting like you wanted me to”. But once we have hit our limit, we become restless and long to see God move. We know He can, we have the faith to back up our prayer. While waiting, we get discouraged, prideful(look at all I do for God, I am a good Christian) and sometimes angry with Him. Losing sight of what we prayed for in the first place, we simply give up.

The hustle and bustle of life is in full swing and the prayer you have given up on is no where on your radar. Then it happens, God answers the very request you had been waiting on. But you may find that your heart is not in the same place it was when you petitioned God. Now you find you are being stretched, you are growing. 

You may not be that same person that prayed that prayer so long ago. What did God show you when His answer was, “wait” ? Are you spiritually stronger, have you grown in wisdom and knowledge? A lot of times we will find that we are at a different place when God does answer our prayers. What can be trying, is when He answers in a way that grows us more than what we thought was possible.

His way to move on your prayer may put you into circumstances you never saw coming. You have been spiritually blindsided but in a Holy way. It may be uncomfortable but will it be your way or His way? Didn’t quite go the way you thought? That is what is so good about our Father, He knows what we need and when we need it.

Will you submit to the Lord’s way of answering your prayer? Will you obey Him? Will you submit to His method? Are will you lose a blessing? These are all questions we encounter in an answered prayer. We have a choice to make. Will we hold tight to our way or will we yield and go with God? It certainly isn’t always easy but His way is the best way, even if it is uncomfortable.
